Top Gear Meme!!!

Tue Nov 3, 2009, 6:13 PM
1- How did you get into TG?

Through Doctor Who fandom. I had heard that David Tennant had been on it, and managed to catch that episode. Immediately after that was the one where they chase a Range Rover Sport with a tank, andI was hooked!

2- Do you watch it for the cars or the humour?

Both. I knew nothing about cars before, but now I really like them and am trying to know more about them.

3- Who is your fave presenter?

I think now I like all three of them about the same. It used to be Richard was the only one I really liked, but they grew on me, and I love them all for different reasos.

4- Why?

I suppose I should write answers for each? I love Richard because he's dead hot; I love when he gets a bit angry, and when he wears leather, and I love his hair and his shortness and how he buys crap cars off Ebay when he's drunk. James is my second favorite ATM; I love his hair, and his bad shirts, and how he keeps motorbike parts in his bath, and how when I read his columns it sounds just like how he talks, and that he loves toys and gets paid to play with them. I love Jeremy because he's so loud and opinionated, which is something I could never be, I love all his crazy ideas, and his jeans that are almost too tight, and how adorable he can be sometimes.

5- If you were to switch jobs with any one of the presenters for one day, which presenter's job would suit you you best?

I think James probably. I could never be as shouty as the other two, and I'd love to build a giant Lego house and drive stuff like the RR Phantom Drophead around.

6- Do you think you resemble one of the presenters in some way?

Probably Richard, cause I'm short and I just got my hair cut mostly off. But I think I act more like James.

7- What do you want in a car: POWEEEER!!!1one!, beauty or comfort?

I think a combination, but maybe a bit less on the POWEEEEER!!!! really. I think I go more for how well it drives and looks.

8- Got a favourite car?

Fiat 500 Abarth hands down. I want one so badly. It's adorable and the perfect size for me, but it thinks it's a Lambo.

9- Favourite strange vehicle the boys built during challenges?

Jeremy's Toybota that sank, or the swan/motorbike thing that Hammond built in Vietnam.

10- Do you often ask yourself: "How hard can it be?"

I don't say it, but if someone else does I always say "Don't say that!" automatically.

11- Hazard a guess to the Stig's identity.

He's either an alien with telepathic powers, a BBC intern, or Damon Hill.

12- Ever been to MPH/Top Gear Live?

I want to, but they have to come over to America first! We're much nicer in MN, I promise!

13- If so, where?

See above. I'd love to go over to the UK, though. Maybe someday.

14- Ever been to a studio recording of TG?

See above! But hopefully my shirt will make it there!

15- Do you read TG-related books?

Oh yes. And I plan on reading more.

16- If so, which ones have you read or do you have?

So far just the Big Book of Top Gear and On the Edge. I also read the magazine.

17- Did the "Good News" joke cause you to not be able to look at a Dacia Sandero in a normal way anymore?

Since I'd never heard of it before, yes! Every time someone says Good News! now, I think "is it the Dacia Sandero?"

18- Want to try blending something with Jeremy's V8 blender?

Yes please! I think that as long as it doesn't involve a brick you could make something delicious in it!

19- Did you laugh or feel sorry when Richard's beloved Oliver sank?

I always just kinda feel bad and want to hug him a bit.

20- Did you honestly believe Michael Schumacher is the Stig?

Until he started talking maybe, then I was all "put the helmet back on please!"

21- If you got to spend 24 hours in a Smart ForFour with the presenter of your choice, who would it be?

James or Richard. Either way I'd be happy. It'd just get a bit cramped with Jezza in there I think.

22- Tell us what you two did during that day you got to spend together in that Smart.

In this case, let's go with James! We could drive around and talk about all kinds of stuff, like music and cars and stuff like that. I'd probably bring something to do if I got bored, like embroidery or my sketchbook, because I'm a dork. We could sit at the beach or just go drive it around the in the country or something. I don't care!

23- You got to be the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car! What would your lap have been like?

I actually had a dream like that once. LOL. It went badly. I think I'd probably spin out a lot from going too fast into a corner, and then be afraid to go too quicky and do it again, thus ending up with a very slow time.

24- Got a favourite part of the TG test track?

I like the second-to-last corner, because I could listen to Hammond say the word "panultimate" all day long. I don't know why, but when he says it it's hot.

25- Time to show off your TG merchandise! What TG-related goodies do you have?

Made my own shirt with Oliver on it, which I wear lots! Also have the 2009 calender, lots of magazines, a little magnet Cool Wall, On The Edge and The Big Book of Top Gear, along with all my downloaded episodes and other shows they've been on.

26- Do you think James should get a haircut?

No! I love his hair! Sometimes it looks really terrible, but every so often it's just perfect and I think he looks really hot. He doesn't look as good with short hair.

27- What is your all-time favourite TG episode?

Do not ask me this!!! I can't answer! although I really like the one where they go golfing and fail at an art museum, and Hugh Grant is there. He's lovely.

28- Favourite Jeremy quote?

"No!!! JAAAMES!!!!! *excited weezing noise*"

29- Favourite James quote?

"I do not wish to help Jeremy Clarkson be amusing, in the event of my death."

30- Favourite Richard quote?

"If you ask me to dance, I'll stab you."

31- Favourite "Some say..." line?

Some say he names all his potted plants Steve.

32- Spanners or hammers?

shotguns! LOL. although hammers are a close second.

33- If you got to change something about your fave presenter, what would it be?

Nothing! They are all prefect!

34- Skip this question if you're a straight guy: Got a crush on any one of the presenters?

Erm... all of them? And also the Stig and Andy Wilman.I am a sad, sad girl.

35- Your favourite presenter takes you out for dinner. What would the evening be like and what would you have for dinner?

Well, I'd invite them all, so it would certainly be eventful! I'd actually be up for cooking if they didn't mind. And then I'd just like to hang out.

36- Ever set fire to a shed with a jet-engine bbq?

No, but it was epic and I nearly died of laughing.

37- Flappy-paddles or gear lever?

Gear lever! I want a proper manual car next, please! Haven't driven one in ages.

38- Pagani Zonda or Bugatti Veyron?

Zonda for me. Pantomime horse over physics lesson any day. In lime green, please.

39- Ever been shocked by something that happened on TG?

Yeah, all the time, and then I think "I'm not really surprised, this IS Top Gear. They are all 8 years old!"

40- Favourite Special?

I'd like to re-watch the Polar special, but I'm torn for favorites between American road trip and Botswana.

41- You get to put a car in each of the sections of the Cool Wall. Which car would you put in Seriously Uncool, which one in Uncool, which in Cool and which car would go into Sub-Zero?

Seriously Uncool: Dodge Nitro. Most hideous thing I've ever seen.
Uncool: Porsche Panamera. I still think it looks like an Austin Maxi. Although I do like the satnav in the dash. Sexy.
Cool: Honda Clarity. Doesn't look amazing, but I love the idea of hydrogen power. Now we just need more cars and fill-up stations.
Sub-Zero: Fiat 500 Abarth, but it's already there! WIN!

42- Ever met one of the presenters?

Not yet, but someday hopefully!

43- Imagine the TG presenters having special powers. What would they be?

I'm actually writing a fic about this...
Jeremy had pyrokenesis, and can also change people's opinions to his with his voice. James is like cyclops from XMen, but it's only one eye and the beam is British Racing green. He wears ad eyepatch. Or a monocle. Richard is basically Wolverine, 'cept his claws are made from carbon fiber.

44- Think up some new nicknames for them.

I can't do this, as I love their nicknames already!

45- Do you have a good sense of direction?

I think so. I can generally figure out where I am without satnav or anything.

46- Got a friend who resembles one of the presenters?

Not at the moment, although my friend Madison and I decided that we are Jeremy and Hammond. We just need a James.

47- Jeremy "accidentally" cuts your favourite car in two with a hacksaw. How do you react?

I'd probably be angry, but then laugh. Then we could put it back together with some welding and duct tape, and maybe add some machine guns and a wood floor with bunk beds or something.

48- James asks you to help him clean and sort his spanners. Will he be happy with your cleaning?

I wouldn't mind, but I don't think I'd be up to his standards. I'd probably run off and draw his motorbikes or something. Or pet Fusker.

49- Richard has been hypnotised again and glomps you. Your reaction?

Find whoever hypnotized him and beat them with a large spanner until they fix him.

50- Some say...

That I officially love the Mighty Boosh, and there's a large box of Lego hidden in my closet. All I know is, it's time for a James May fix.

Commissions Update!

Wed Oct 14, 2009, 8:02 PM
Here is what I've got for t-shirt commissions at the moment:

So far these are all Oliver ones

*b-day present for Alisson: COMPLETELY COMPLETE
*shirt for HamHamRibon-chan: COLPLETE, unpaid, un-sent
*surprise shirt for Richard Hammond: nearly done!
*shirt for Madison: painted, unpaid, un-sent
*shirt for Lindsay (my teacher from MCAD): bought the shirt!

I also have to make up a few things for the MCAD Art Sale which is next month, so some of these may get put off a bit if they don't need to be anywhere by a set date. So, if you're not Hammond or Ribon-chan, you may have to wait a bit. But they WILL get done. I PROMISE.

If you'd like to be added to the list, please PM me or comment here! As I've said, I'm willing to put other things on shirts, although I'm quite liking the idea of cars right now. I plan on doing some of the ones for the art sale with Bugatti Veyrons and maybe some Lamborghinis of some kind or old American muscle cars like Mustangs or Challengers. Not sure. The cost is gonna be $40 for the time being, but it might go up after I go talk to some people with samples and stuff.

Commissions!!!

Sun Oct 4, 2009, 3:21 PM
I'm currently taking commissions for embroidered t-shirts, as you may have read in my last journal. So far I've just been making more of my Oliver shirt that I have posted on here, but I'd be happy to do any color of shirt with anything on it.

I'm charging $40, unless you provide your own shirt at which point I can lower the price a bit.

In the case of the Oliver shirts, the type of shirt I'm using is actually on clearance at my work now, so if you'd like one of those, I'd like to no ASAP so that I can get the shirts for cheap before they're gone. Just let me know what size you need.

I'm willing to ship anywhere you like, so out of the US is not really a problem.

I currently have 2, possibly 3 orders to do, and I can probably take a couple more at the moment to have done by the end of the month if you like, or more for whenever after that.

Please comment here or message me if you have any questions or want to order one! Thanks!

TShirt Commissions anyone?

Thu Sep 24, 2009, 1:26 PM
So, kinda gave up on making hats for the time being. I started one, but then mom put my machine in the closet and I can't be bothered to get it down again.

So, I started embroidering t-shirts that I have lying around. I finished one with Oliver the car on it. I'll probably take pics of it later today and post them all. Gonna start another with a manatee on it, because I feel like it.

If anyone would like me to make a shirt for them, I'll totally do it! Just PM me or comment here and we can talk about it, since I haven't really figured out how I want this all to work. But I'm very much up for it!

Found Dead Set. Watched the first episode. Not sure that I like it that much. It's very well done though, and zombie!Davina was pretty awesome.

Stephen Fry is officially my new fandom while waiting for new Top Gear. I absolutely LOVE Last Chance to See, even though it's very sad sometimes. Waiting to be able to listen to what I'm downloading now, which is all the Harry Potter audio books from the UK, which are rad by him. Yay! and I have nearly all of QI as well.

Sad that James May's Lego house was taken down, but glad they're doing something good with it. Wish I lived over there so I could've been part of it. I hope they find Lego!Fusker.

Got a job at Target. Been doing my embroidery during breaks at work. My feet always hurt and I'm tired every day that I work, but it's money and a job for now, so I can deal with it.

Also, the new episode of House made me cry. Can't wait for more!
